This cute little Birthday card, using Country Birdhouse Bundle #163401 uses a Partial Cut of the die. Do you know what that is?? When die cutting, place the birdhouse die on top of a folded card and put the left roof edge OFF THE CARD FOLD. This edge will not be cut.

This picture shows that the left roof did not cut and created a hinge to make a cute note card!! The white rectangle is a place to write your personal message.

This card could also be used as a tie-on tag! Punch a hole and add a narrow ribbon to tie onto a gift! Try it!

Check out this fun texture using the NEW Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder #163792!! To emphasize the texture try sponging like this:

Use a sticky note to mask each square so you can sponge on color. Use the handy Sponging Brushes #153611 to collect ink from an ink pad. Rub the sponge over the embossed card stock to add color to the raised areas. It's easy and fast!

My last posted showed you how to use the Painter's Tape Technique for card making. Here is another idea. If you click the photo to enlarge it, you'll get a nice view of the texture created by using Painter's Tape to make the background.

A black base card POPS all the colors!! The sentiment and stars were created using the Wanted to Say Dies #161594. To review this Painter's Tape Technique click HERE. Try this!!

This is called the Painter's Tape Technique - it's easy and unique! Use blue painter's tape because it is LOW tack adhesive. Start with 8 inches of tape for EACH color you intend to use. Lay the tape across a dye ink pad, sticky side down, and lightly rub the tape to pick up the ink.

Apply the inked tape to your card stock and press.

Gently pull off the tape and the ink will remain on the card stock showing a unique texture. It's always different and irregular. Repeat with different colors. Use a different piece of tape for each color.

Here are Peach Pie and Pretty in Pink colors on Basic white cardstock. This is ready to use for a project.

This sample is being die cut with Spotlight on Nature Dies #163580.

Here is the finished card featuring the Wanted to Say Dies #161594 in Basic Black Card Stock. The Painter's Tape background adds a unique ink texture!

The card base features the "Bargello Technique," which starts as 1/2" strips of Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, and Gorgeous Grape colors. You might be familiar with Bargello quilts.

Glue the 1/2" strips to a base card stock. Cut the base card stock into 1/2" strips. Stagger the strips one square down and attach to the card for an interesting background. Try different color combos!! Try different widths of strips. PLAY!!

Collect your scraps and make this card! This is such a cheery, vibrant card! That's probably why it was a recent class favorite!!

Cut card stock strips about 1/4 to 1/2" wide.  Attach the strips to a card stock base. I chose to attach these diagonally for more interest.

Flip over the card stock and trim off the strips that protrude beyond the edges. Mount to a slightly larger Black layer.

Next, mount butterflies from the Brilliant Wings Dies #155523, die cut with Black Card Stock!! These dies are currently on the Last Chance List: regularly $44, FOR ONLY $17.80 while supplies last!! It's a SUPER DEAL!!!
