This is Tone-on-Tone-on-Tone MAGIC Week - scroll down to check yesterday's directions. Here I used the Dots Mask with Calypso Coral ink pad for sponging! The dots repeat the other circular shapes. It's a HAPPY card! More MAGIC tomorrow! Stop back!
You need to try this REALLY cool technique, Tone-on-Tone-on-Tone!! The supplies you need are: Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper (a FREE Sale-A-Bration item till 3/31/2015,) Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks (really a stencil,) ink pad, stamping sponge, and a tissue. I'm using Sahara Sand and a 3X3" piece of the DSP.
Pounce the sponge onto the ink pad to collect color. With stencil on top of the DSP, SCRUB the sponge over the stencil to create dark areas as shown.
Remove the stencil. LIGHTLY sponge the entire area with circular motions. I only did half so you could see the difference it makes! The white embossed image POPS OUT like MAGIC!! Buff with a tissue to remove ink on the white embossed area.
And here is the finished piece - three layers of color! So interesting! Now for the card...
Look at the stunning results!! The white embossed area is glossy and really stands out. I just LOVE this quick technique! The Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper contains 2 each of SIX different designs for a total of 12 sheets of 12X12" papers. This project only took a 3X3" piece!

This rose lace is from the Artisan Embellishment Kit #137909 in the Occasion Catalog 2015. I used my Stylus to quickly poke the 1/8" Silver Ribbon thru holes already in the lace. The flower is mounted on Silver Foil Paper for a pop of shimmer.

Hope you are following along this week of Blendies on Black! After completing my image, I added Crystal Effects for GLOSS! This craft lacquer has an applicator tip - squeeze out and use tip to push this thick gel around to cover the image. LET DRY. The thicker you apply it, the longer it takes to dry. You can even lightly sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on wet Crystal Effects if desired.
To color on Black Cardstock, start by heat embossing your image in white embossing powder. Be sure you are using the Emboss Buddy before embossing so you get a CLEAN print! That magic little pouch wipes away static and hand oils so powder doesn't stick where it's not wanted.
Next, simply color with Stampin' Up!'s Blendabilities! You don't even have to be neat...just do it quickly, because a little color beyond the white will not show.
