Family Time!

1969-12-31 001 021

Kelly, our oldest daughter, and her hubby just visited for a few days to escape the Minnesota weather! ALWAYS great to have family time!

1969-12-31 001 002

We just had a solar heater installed for our little pool. The water was 90 degrees in March! That's my kinda swimming!

1969-12-31 001 005

Kelly and Chris off to kayak Alligator Creek behind our house!

1969-12-31 001 015

Visiting Banyon Street in Boca Grande on Gasparilla barrier island. Love these unique trees!

1969-12-31 001 013

We had perfect weather and two days at the beach!

Postage look-a-like

2012-11-27 001 009

This format creates an interesting card front! It's Stampin' Up!'s 1" square punch mounted on the Postage Stamp Punch - easy!! Don't worry if the image is larger than the punch. Colors: Midnight Muse with Crumb Cake.

2012-11-27 001 008

Add a Chevron knot and that's all you need! This is a great guy stamp set!

The Open Sea

2012-11-27 001 024

I just finished a 6-month stamp club and this was one of three projects for March. The olde WORLD MAP Stamp is a great companion for THE OPEN SEA Stamp Set! The background is Sahara Sand Cardstock accented with Midnight Muse ribbon and frame.

2012-11-27 001 022

I wanted this old document to look ancient so I used Crumb Cake Cardstock, sponging, & tearing. Then I rolled the toren edge around a thin pick to make it look curled. I think the results are perfect! This set has endless possibilities for male cards!

#128454 Wood - $26.95

#123032 Clear - $18.95

Storage tip

2012-11-27 001 001

Here is a little peek at my stamping office in our new home! I was THRILLED with built-in oak shelves across one end of my room. These shelves are 12" DEEP. I stacked one row of stamp cases in front of the other AND elevated the back row with lumber so I could read the labels!!! I'M LOVIN' IT!!! That trick DOUBLED my storage!

2012-11-27 001 002

The lumber I used was 2-1/2" wide and works PERFECT!!

2012-11-27 001 005

I displayed some of my antique quilts and buttons on the top of the cabinets. To give the room depth, I stained the interior of the cabinets dark and painted the outside 3 coats of white to match the rest of the trim in the room. The walls are very close to Stampin' Up!'s SOFT SKY color. I'll have more views of my office in the future! Keep popping in OR SUBSCRIBE (on the right) and never miss a post or Weekly Deal!

Spiral Flower Die

  2012-11-27 001 026

I've been creating LOTS of flowers - here's to my NORTHERN FRIENDS!! Spring WILL come! Till then, create your own spring with Stampin' Up!'s Spiral Flower Die!! Directions: begin at the SMALL end of the die cut paper, roll tightly around a small diameter stick (skewer.) Remove the stick and let the paper "relax" to open up the petals. The last scallop of the die is a BASE, add hot glue to the base and attached the rolled petals. Next, I like to lay the flower, petals-down-on-the-table and PRESS. This slightly flattens the flower and turns a few petals back. Mold the paper to your liking. Try TWO DIES to make a larger flower OR, HALF OF A DIE to create a tiny bud. SOOOO many possibilities!! Non-wilt, re-usable flowers perfect for party & wedding decorations!

2012-11-27 001 027

Use: Designer Series Papers, Foil Papers, Brushed Metallic Papers, Coordinations Cardstock, Standard Cardstock, Felt, ETC!!!

2012-11-27 001 027

Add: Sponging, Dazzling Diamonds, Glitter Glue, Sanding, Crumpling. Try adding these fast, pretty flowers to wreaths, pins, tote bags, magnets, baby headbands, bracelets, ETC!! I added a floral wire thru the center to create a stem.

2012-11-27 001 026

I used Janet Wakeland's idea: I bought a cheap salt shaker and filled it with coarse sand. I inserted the stems thru the shaker holes to create a nice little bouquet for my desk!!! Another flower idea in my next post so stop back!
