Nature at the Beach

100_2090
We recently went to the Beach on Sanibel Island to check the damage from Tropical Storm Debby in June. A good number of Sea Turtle nests were washed away, but this one remained! The Sea Turtle is endangered and all nests are marked clearly to protect the eggs. Notice all the shells which were deposited way up on the beach by the strong storm surfs.

In the same location, we saw TWO Opsrey, which are very common because their diet is 99% fish. We see them frequently here, and often carrying a fish in their claws. Their wingspan is 71"! Did you find the two birds: one at the top left and another in the lower center.
