My Grandkitties

Pet of Month
My Grandkitties, Baby and Buddy were featured pets of the week at their vet's in MN! You may know I'm a cat-lover by my "STAMPUR" license plate!

100_2009
This is sweet "Baby" with a feminine little meow.

100_2008
This is her brother, big "Buddy" with an attitude. They BOTH know the commands "SIT" and "SHAKE" for a treat. They are smart and I'm the proud grandma!

Sunset

100_1975
The NEW Serene Silhouettes stamp set really sparks my creativity! I used Sponge Daubers and two ink pads to creat this sunset on GLOSSY paper. The glossy surface allows the best blending of colors. Then I stamped the detailed bird image and allowed it to dry thoroughly.

100_1974
I grabbed the NEW Delicate Designs Embossing Folder (comes with two designs) and my BIG SHOT to create Texture on the base card. LOVE IT!

100_1976
The black base card really POPS the sunset colors. Give it a try!

BIG SHOT Quilting

100_2112
Check out these yummy BE OF GOOD CHEER Designer Papers! I punched out squares and cut each diagonally. After attaching them to Whisper White cardstock, I ran it thru my BIG SHOT in the Square Lattice Folder. This achieves a "QUILTED" look without a thread and needle. 100_2113
The sparkle in the center is the NEW Vintage Faceted Button with a Rhinestone added to the center! It's Christmas in July!!

Pink for Girls

100_2110
A sweet pink baby onsie-shaped card makes a perfect Welcome Baby greeting. The white bib is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder and my handy Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.

100_2111
To set off the bib, I added Rose Red Seam Binding, gathered onto Sticky Strip on the backside of the bib. Then I added a 5/8" Paper Daisey sponged pink! SWEET results!

Christmas in July

100_2121
It's never too early to design your Holiday cards! This is a stylized Christmas tree called STAR TREE. I stamped the image in CRAFT Black ink and heat embossed it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. The tree sparkles but the camera didn't pick it up.

100_2123
The Silver Glimmer Paper really adds PUNCH to a very simple design.

100_2124
This design is very similar but uses the traditional Real Red and Gumball Green inks.

100_2126

STAR TREE is a single stamp for only $9.95. Click SHOP NOW on the right to purchase this or any Stampin' Up! products.

Saved a "GOOF"...

100_2097
Confession: I goofed when stamping this detailed tree image from "Serene Silhouettes." So....instead of pitching the image, I grabbed a circle punch and punched out the "good" part. Sometimes the design just takes control and turns out TOTALLY different than I originally planned.

100_2096
After layering onto a Scallop Circle, I added piercing using the NEW Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.

100_2098
The Basic Grey layer is cut with the LABELS COLLECTION FRAMELITS and my very versatile Big Shot Die Cutting Machine! My "goof" turned out quite nicely! Get creative with your mistakes!

Trio of Flowers

100_2093
This pretty thank you card was made by my demonstrator friend, Peggy Taylor. She used the NEW "Betsy's Blossoms." Two flowers are stamped with Versamark ink, and the center flower is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

100_2095
The center flower is topped off with a Large Pearl.

Serene Silhouettes

100_2105
I can not get enough of this beautifully detailed Serene Silhouettes stamp set! For this card I used markers directly on the rubber and stamped onto GLOSSY cardstock for a crisp result.

100_2106
I cut the layers with Labels Collection Framelits and my BIG SHOT Die Cutting Machine.

100_2107
Then I layered onto the NEW Polka Dot Designer Series Paper in Rich Razzleberry! A little row of Rhinestones add balance.

Swappin' Time

100_1930
Convention time is coming! It's always the highlight of my summer. When demonstrators gather there is always card swapping to share our ideas. This is my major design for this year, created with the charming NEW "Floral District" Designer Series Papers!

100_1931
67 finished and counting. Here a secret: I hate making the same thing over and over and over!! I will vary the paper designs so I don't go NUTZ!! @#$%^&* But the end result of swapping with others is FUN and gives me tons of different styles and ideas!!

My FIRST Convention in 1997

Country Fair 1997
Here's an oldie but a goodie photo! This was my FIRST Stampin' Up! Convention in 1997. Shelli Gardner is in the middle and her sister, LaVonne is on the right. The theme that year was "Stamper's Country Fair" hence their costumes. I was sooo thrilled to meet these friendly co-founders of Stampin' Up! I HAVE NEVER MISSED AN ANNUAL CONVENTION!!

LaVonne retired early and Shelli is still our CEO. Stampin' Up! is now in SEVEN countries and adding two more soon! WOW! From Shelli's living room to the WORLD!! What a huge accomplishment!

Basic Grey with a punch...

100_2100
Basic Grey is a NEUTRAL and pairs with almost any color! I punched up the Basic Grey with Daffodil Delight. Don't you agree they are a "perfect pair?" For the most interest, make your layers unequal in width!!

100_2101
This lovely detailed image is from the NEW "Serene Silhouette" stamp set - a favorite of mine!! Give Basic Grey a try!!

Nature at the Beach

100_2090
We recently went to the Beach on Sanibel Island to check the damage from Tropical Storm Debby in June. A good number of Sea Turtle nests were washed away, but this one remained! The Sea Turtle is endangered and all nests are marked clearly to protect the eggs. Notice all the shells which were deposited way up on the beach by the strong storm surfs.

100_2091
In the same location, we saw TWO Opsrey, which are very common because their diet is 99% fish. We see them frequently here, and often carrying a fish in their claws. Their wingspan is 71"! Did you find the two birds: one at the top left and another in the lower center.

I "shell" thank you!

100_2081
Now that I live in Southwest Florida, I was thrill to see the NEW stamp set BY THE SEASHORE!

100_2082
I needed lots of thank yous for wonderful Freeport, IL friends who recently ordered so I wanted a quick, classy note! These are the 3.5X5" pre-packaged notes with envelopes which are SO HANDY!!

100_2083
I stamped the shell in Soft Suede ink. Then I used an aqua painter to "bleed" the ink where I wanted to add shading. It's sooo simple! Then I added a Basic Grey shadow under the image. Give this trick a try!

Serene Silhouettes

100_1959
You are going to LOVE these NEW Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Papers! There are SIX different designs and here I used the woodgrain. The design comes heat embossed with clear embossing powder onto kraft cardstock. You can see the SHINE of the embossing.

100_1960
I paired this unique paper with the NEW stamp set called SERENE SILHOUETTES. Look at the great details in this image.

100_1961
This creation makes a lovely sympathy card by adding the sentiment, "Memories."

Outstanding Demonstrators

100_2040
I recently travelled to northern Illinois where most of my Stampin' Up! downline demonstrators live. My group is North Star Stampers and I had an annual meeting. I recognized the SIX top demonstrators of the year ending June 30, 2012. From the left: Linda Niemeyer, Shari Ball, Mary Elliott, Barb Faulkner, Audra Moncur, and absent, Michelle Miller. Michelle was unable to attend because she had a stampin' event. She got the final sales she needed to earn the TOP incentive, a trip to Fiji in the South Pacific! Congrats to Michelle and Audra who both earned this Grand Vacation! So happy for you!!

100_2038
We had a NAME TAG CONTEST and there was a tie: Judy Trigg and Janell Lewellen. Very creative name tags!

It was so fun to see everyone and share stampin' ideas! I love my new home in FL, but miss all my stampin' friends in the midwest. Best of luck to all my North Star Stamper Family as we begin a NEW Stampin' Up! Year!! Share what you love!
