Yo Yo Project

EASY YO YOs...

100_1595
Have you noticed Yo Yos are back? I have made hundreds of them in my lifetime and always hated cutting those circles one-at-a-time. I wanted to do a Yo Yo project and knew my FABULUOS Big Shot would be a huge time saver! I used the 3 1/2" circle die and laid my Stampin' Up! fabrics on the die in a zig-zag fashion. I cut about 6 at a time - SO EASY, SO FAST!!

Next, simply fold the edge of the circle 1/4" in toward center, taking even 1/8" stitches around the entire edge. Pull snug and knot. They go fairly fast!

Finger press flat with the gathering centered. Stop back tomorrow to see what I used my Yo Yos to create!!

This is an olde Yo Yo Doily I enjoy in my Stamp Room. I'm guessing from the fabrics that it was made in the 1940's. It's a shabby chic compliment to my Pool Party colored office! See ya tomorrow!!

Hi Nancy - I can't wait to see what you do with your new yo yos. I have had this on my to do list for over a year - was going to do something for Chirstmas the year before last. Alas, it hasn't made it to the top of the list yet, your project just may move it up a few notches. LOVE your blog Nancy!!!!

Hi Nancy, cool yo yos, my Mother made a long skirt with them on and some pillows decorated with them. Didn't know you made them, cool wall hanging!
