Magnet Mania!

100_1541
Let's make some FUN, COLORFUL magnets using the very versatile Big Shot! You will need 10"X10' aluminum flashing from the roofing department of a big box hardware store. I chose three cans of Rustoleum Ultra Cover spray paint in colors that coordinated with my Stampin' Up! brads: Key Lime, Paprika, and Lagoon. The Stampin' Up! Craft and Rubber Scissors easily cut through the flashing. After painting the aluminum, I cut lots of pieces with the FUN FLOWERS Die and my Big Shot. Some I embossed with assorted embossing folders. The Crop-A-Dile is the perfect punch for the center (or use the piercing tool and mat) to add a colorful brad. I used Stampin' Up! Self-Adhesive Magnet Sheets on the back - very simple.

It’s amazing that sturdy materials like these can be a canvas for an artistic piece! Yes, it’s good to put it on a display. And aside from those colorful flowers, I think creating some car-like images and some robots is also great when it comes to making a counterpart for boys!

Wow, you transformed a mere aluminum flashing into beautiful flower magnets. If I got the chance to make those, I would proudly stick them in my office cubicle. I’m going to start collecting scrap flashing from our roof renovation. =)

Thank you for sharing all the specifics, Nancy! In addition to using these outdoors because of their rustproof feature, they would be great for decorating boring necessities at work, such as filing cabinets. Also, how about using them to hold up refrigerator art and reminder notes? Their uses are limitless! Oh, and by the way, they're beautiful!
